ViewSonic and Userful offer up 'cost effective' video wall solutions
Wed, 30th Mar 2016
FYI, this story is more than a year old

ViewSonic has introduced a suite of high-end video wall and video-over-IP solutions, powered by Userful, which it says make high-end 6K video walls accessible to anyone.

The offerings – the ViewSonic SW-014 Video Wall Deployment Solution and the SW-015 Artistic Video Wall Depoloyment Solution – are designed to cater to the rapidly expanding video wall market with a more affordable solution.

Tim Griffin, Userful founder and CTO, says while the video wall market has been expanding rapidly, high-end video walls are still expensive and out of the reach of many.

“This is a cost-effective solution that fits great with ViewSonic's family of commercial display products,” Griffin says.

“With this solution, every AV professional and system integrator will be able to offer a high-end video wall solution without blowing their budgets,” he adds.

ViewSonic says the offerings are the first video wall deployment solutions to deliver 6K content in real time over a standard Ethernet network.

The offerings allow up to 40 displays at 4K resolution using a single standard PC and up to 60 displays at 4K resolution with a high-end PC, and leverage existing network infrastructure and a standard PC to reduce the amount of specialised knowledge, equipment and support needed for low up-front costs, easier set up and little to no maintenance.

ViewSonic says the offerings are ‘ideal' for event showcasing and advertising as well as for interactive scenarios, such as control rooms and command centres, waypoint information and one of a kind artistic wall deployments.

Gene Ornstead, ViewSonic director of product marketing, says “These video wall deployment solutions make high-end video wall deployment affordable.

He says the walls offer simple deployment, easy maintenance and ‘unprecedented' flexibility, enabling users to deliver virtually any kind of media content to a family of video walls, or independent displays, ‘without breaking the bank'.

A wide range of content sources are supporting, including multiple leading digitial CMS', live TV, multiple simultaneous HDMI and SDI inputs, RTSP, RDP, VNC, full screen web browser, desktop environments and real-time live camera feeds.
