Kiwi start up company Semble has been highly commended at the New Zealand Innovators Awards held last week.

Semble is a free app that was launched in March, and is considered New Zealand's first mobile wallet.

It has been high commended for financial and professional services, as well as being named a finalist in the Innovation in Information Communications Technology and Cloud Solutions, and Innovation in Marketing and Communications categories.

Semble enables consumers to pay at contactless terminals around the country and use public transport all through a single app on their smart phone with more service categories to soon follow.

The awards, which took place at the Cloud, Queens Wharf in Auckland, celebrate innovative products and services nationwide.

Semble CEO Rob Ellis says it is a great achievement for the start-up company.

“Being highly commended for Financial and Professional Services and a finalist in two other categories is a fantastic endorsement after just six months in market,” Ellis says.
