More than 5000 Citrix staff, partners and vendors attended Citrix Synergy, the company's premier digital work conference, in Atlanta, United States last week.The event, which was also livestreamed and shared on social media, also attracted thousands more viewers.
Surprise special guest Sonequa Martin-Green of Star Trek: Discovery and The Walking Dead officially opened the conference. While President and CEO David Henshall delivered the opening keynote and revealed some of the company's biggest announcements, including workspace intelligent experience (Sapho), Citrix and Google Cloud partnership extension, Citrix Managed Desktops Service (CMD) and much more.
“Consider this, a whopping 85%of employees are disengaged at work, according to a recent Gallup study, which translates into $7 trillion of lost output,” shared Citrix president and CEO David Henshall.
"Given that employees are a company's largest expense, and therefore its most valuable asset, it's essential that they have the tools and the information necessary to do their best work. By drawing on consumer-like experience and infusing machine learning, AI, and simplified workflows into Citrix Workspace, Citrix is empowering companies to completely transform the employee experience in a way that enables their people to work smarter, more efficiently, and more productively.
Other speakers that participated at Citrix Synergy included former United States Secretary of State Dr. Madeleine Albright who discussed the qualities of effective leadership, and blind adventurer Erik Weihenmayer, who talked about the power of teamwork.
Citrix says the APAC contingent was strong this year. It included APJ senior vice president sales and services Colin Brookes, ANZ area vice president Erin Butler and ANZ channel director Brian McColm, as well as representatives from Dicker Data and other channel partners.
Indiana University scooped up in the Citrix Innovation Award for Partners on the day. Citrix also donated $1 to the United Way of Greater Atlanta and HeatSync Labs for every #CitrixSynergy tag during the conference.
